Volvo plans 13 new models by 2030 across multiple bodystyles

Volvo has confirmed plans to introduce 13 new models by 2030, spanning hybrid and electric powertrains and moving beyond its core SUV range.
Volvo is planning one of the most significant expansions in its recent history, with the Swedish manufacturer committing to 13 new models by 2030, including a mix of hybrids, pure-electric cars and bodystyles that go beyond the SUVs the brand has leaned on heavily in recent years. According to multiple reports, seven of those models are earmarked specifically for Western markets, with the broader programme serving global audiences.
The move signals that Volvo is not content to refresh existing lines but intends to push into segments and shapes it does not currently cover. While the brand has built much of its recent commercial success on crossovers and SUVs, the expansion plan is said to introduce new bodystyles, suggesting saloons, estates or other forms could return to or enter the lineup.
For UK buyers, the practical implication is a considerably wider choice of Volvos over the next several years, with both electrified and conventionally assisted powertrains represented. Hybrid options in the mix suggest the brand is not yet treating combustion-assisted drivetrains as finished business, even as it continues pushing towards a fully electric future.
The timescale to 2030 is ambitious, and the programme spans a range of markets rather than focusing narrowly on any one region. Multiple reports describe the plan in terms of scope across global sales territories, with the Western market allocation representing roughly half of the total model count. No specific pricing or on-sale dates for individual models have been confirmed at this stage.
