Promo.co.uk is the media and marketing desk of the New Reg motoring group. Every day, millions of drivers use the group's sites to value a car, book a garage, find a private plate or browse the forecourt. That activity tells a story about how the country drives, buys and maintains its cars, and our job is to write that story clearly and put it to good use.
What we publish
We cover four areas. Automotive news follows the changes that affect ordinary motorists, from running costs to the rules of the road. Market insight reads the live demand signals across the group, such as which models are searched for most and where MOT pressure is building. Plate stories track the private registration market. Garage marketing helps independent workshops reach the drivers who need them. Each piece is written to be useful first and found easily second.
How we make Promo
Promo is built on an automated newsroom. Our system continuously reads trusted, mostly official UK motoring sources and uses AI to assemble and draft each story, at a speed and breadth no small desk could match. That speed only matters if the facts hold, so every story must clear a verification gate before it is published: it has to be confirmed by an official source or corroborated across several independent ones, and where it names a specific vehicle we check the claim against DVSA MOT history and DVLA records. Anything that fails is held back, not published. We write in plain British English, we credit our official sources, and we correct mistakes openly when we get something wrong.
For motoring brands
Promo is also an engine. The same system that powers this site can supply a motoring brand with a living news section, verified and on-brief, without the cost of running a newsroom. It already feeds the news sections on other sites in the group, including Garage.co.uk and Fuel.co.uk, each with its own fully rewritten, audience-specific stories. If you run a motoring brand and want fresh, fact-checked content on tap, that is what Promo does.

Who runs Promo
