UK fuel brand league: 12.2p a litre from cheapest to dearest

Ranked from official price data, Go leads on average unleaded at £7.34/gal (161.4p), against a 23-brand mean of £7.66/gal (168.5p).
Ranking the 23 UK fuel brands with at least 20 reporting forecourts, average unleaded runs from £7.34/gal (161.4p) at Go to £7.89/gal (173.6p) at BP Harvest Energy, a 55.5p a gallon (12.2p a litre) spread around a £7.66/gal (168.5p) mean.
Cheapest five by average: Go at £7.34/gal (161.4p) across 29 sites; Solo at £7.44/gal (163.7p) across 41 sites; Maxol at £7.48/gal (164.6p) across 90 sites; Tesco at £7.51/gal (165.1p) across 502 sites; Circle K at £7.53/gal (165.7p) across 44 sites.
Brand averages reflect estate composition as much as pricing policy: a chain concentrated in one region, or weighted towards supermarket sites, reads cheaper for reasons of geography rather than strategy. Motorway services operators are excluded from the table because their pricing reflects the motorway premium, which Promo tracks separately. The minimum site count keeps small estates from distorting the ranking.
