Range Rover Electric opens for orders at £154,000

Range Rover has entered the electric vehicle market for the first time in its near-60-year history, with JLR opening order books for the Range Rover Electric at a starting price of around £154,000.

The SUV delivers 405 kW of system power and is capable of charging at up to 350 kW, which places it among the faster-charging vehicles in its class. According to multiple reports, it offers a claimed range of 600 km on a single charge, a figure that Land Rover will be hoping addresses one of the most common reservations buyers have about large electric SUVs.

In terms of positioning, the Range Rover Electric is priced in line with the existing V8 petrol variant, meaning buyers are not being asked to pay a significant premium for the electric powertrain. Multiple reports describe the cabin experience as targeting Rolls-Royce levels of refinement, which underlines how firmly JLR is pitching this model at the top end of the luxury segment rather than treating electrification as a cost-cutting exercise.
