Mercedes-AMG GT SUV revealed with up to 1,153 hp
By Anthony Sharkey, Chief Operating Officer, New Reg Limited
Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its all-electric GT SUV in three distinct variants, with the top-specification model producing a claimed 1,153 horsepower.
Mercedes-AMG has confirmed the GT SUV, a fully electric performance vehicle that arrives in three versions and, at its most powerful, produces 1,153 horsepower through a three-motor drivetrain, according to multiple reports.
The headline figure places the range-topping model among the most powerful production SUVs ever announced, with three electric motors working together to generate that output. The two less powerful variants in the line-up are expected to carry lower outputs, though Mercedes-AMG has structured the range so buyers can choose a level of performance that suits them without committing to the full specification.
As an electric vehicle, the GT SUV represents a significant step for the AMG performance brand, which has historically built its reputation on high-revving combustion engines. The move to three motors signals that AMG intends to match or exceed the performance credentials of its petrol-powered predecessors rather than simply offer a quieter alternative.
The 2026 model year designation, noted in early coverage of the car, suggests deliveries are still some way off, and full details including pricing, range figures and on-sale dates for the UK market have yet to be confirmed by the manufacturer. UK buyers interested in the model will need to wait for Mercedes-AMG to release official specification and pricing information before drawing firm conclusions about running costs or value.
