Kia is preparing to enter the large electric van market with the PV7, a commercial vehicle that the company appears to be positioning as capable of far more than straightforward parcel delivery. According to multiple reports, the model is built on the E-GMP.S platform and will make its official debut on 14 September 2026 at the IAA Transportation show in Hanover, placing it squarely in the growing electric light commercial vehicle segment.
What makes the PV7 notable is how it has been designed from the outset to be adaptable. Multiple reports describe a large body paired with a modular electric platform, a combination that is intended to support a wide range of conversions for both work and lifestyle uses. That approach suggests the van could appeal beyond traditional fleet operators to buyers who need a vehicle configured for specific trades, leisure or specialist purposes.
The electric LCV market has become increasingly competitive in recent years, with several established manufacturers and newer entrants offering battery-powered alternatives to diesel vans. By basing the PV7 on a dedicated EV platform rather than adapting an existing combustion vehicle, Kia is signalling that it considers flexibility and electric efficiency central to the design rather than an afterthought.

The IAA Transportation event in Hanover, where the PV7 is scheduled to debut, is one of the commercial vehicle industry's leading international showcases, and further technical details are expected to be released closer to or at that event.
