Ford has revealed its affordable electric pickup truck is called the Fathom, priced from $29,945 in the United States. UK pricing is not yet announced.
Ford has confirmed the name and price of its long-awaited affordable electric pickup truck: it is called the Fathom, and it starts at $29,945 before any applicable incentives, according to multiple reports.
The Fathom sits in the midsize pickup segment and arrives with a price point that Ford is clearly positioning as accessible by electric vehicle standards. According to multiple reports, the truck comes with a respectable list of standard equipment included from the outset, rather than pushing buyers towards expensive option packs to get a usable specification.
The name itself caught observers off guard. Multiple reports note that the Fathom was not among the names widely anticipated, with speculation having centred on other possibilities including a revival of the Ranchero nameplate. Ford has not offered a public explanation for the choice, but the name is now official.
