BMW X3 M50 xDrive gets more power and a Black Package
By William Fletcher MBE, Chief Executive Officer, New Reg Limited
BMW has upgraded the X3 M50 xDrive with a meaningful power increase and a new cosmetic Black Package that darkens the car's exterior and interior trim.
BMW has raised the output of the X3 M50 xDrive to 437 horsepower, a rise of 44 bhp over the previous figure, while simultaneously introducing a Black Package that brings darker styling to the performance SUV, according to multiple reports.
The power increase is the more significant change for drivers who buy the M50 xDrive primarily for performance. Pushing past 437 hp puts the car firmly in the territory where everyday motorway pulls and overtakes feel noticeably more forceful, and the uplift is substantial enough to be felt rather than merely quoted on a specification sheet.
The Black Package is a purely cosmetic option and does not alter the powertrain in any way. It centres on blacked-out wheels and carbon-look interior trim, giving the cabin and exterior a darker, more focused appearance for buyers who want the car to look as purposeful as it performs.
Taken together, the two changes mean the updated X3 M50 xDrive arrives with a stronger engine and a wider choice of visual personalisation than its predecessor offered. Buyers interested in the model should check with BMW retailers for UK pricing on the Black Package and for confirmed on-sale dates, as those details were not confirmed across the reports available at the time of writing.
