2027 Polestar 4 SUV revealed with rear window and wagon proportions

Polestar has updated the Polestar 4 for 2027, adding a proper rear window and a noticeably more practical body that multiple reports describe as closer to a wagon than an SUV.
Polestar has revealed an updated version of its Polestar 4 electric vehicle for 2027, and the most significant change is one that existing owners may find quietly frustrating: the new model finally features a conventional rear window, making the car considerably easier to live with day to day.
The original Polestar 4 launched without a rear glass window, a design choice that divided opinion and left some drivers relying entirely on the rear camera for reversing and visibility. The 2027 version addresses that directly, and according to multiple reports the addition transforms the character of the car, pulling it away from coupe-SUV territory and giving it proportions that more honestly resemble a practical estate or wagon.
Boot space has also grown, with multiple reports noting a meaningfully larger load area that will matter to families and anyone who regularly carries bulky items. Alongside that, Polestar has introduced a Camping mode, a feature that allows the cabin environment to be managed overnight, which broadens the car's appeal for longer leisure trips where drivers might want to sleep in the vehicle.
Who the car is aimed at is now clearer than it was at launch. The combination of the rear window, the larger boot and the camping functionality points to a buyer who wants the visual presence of a taller vehicle but also needs it to function as proper daily and long-distance transport. Whether the wagon-like proportions suit every taste is a separate question, but on practical grounds the 2027 Polestar 4 appears to be a more rounded proposition than its predecessor.
